  • Varied Individual Behavior: Some Theories, Measurement Methods and Models

    Edgar A Pessemier•ARTICLE•Multivariate Behavioral Research•1985

This paper examines the many potential causes of varied individual behavior, including the direct utility of variety. In turn, the variety conveyed by choice objects is defined, a theory of varied behavior is outlined, and a dynamic choice model is formulated. • Variety Seeking Behavior: An Interdisciplinary Review

Leigh Mcalister, Edgar A Pessemier et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Consumer Research•1982•Cited by: 63•References: 3

In an attempt to organize the research findings that pertain to the various phenomena which have been termed "variety seeking " we offer a taxonomy of varied behavior. Within that framework the literature is reviewed. Seemingly disparate research traditions; one of which viewed the phenomenon as inexplicable, the other of which attempted explanation; are shown to be converging

  • Forecasting the Ultimate Acceptance of an Innovation: The Effects of Information

    Peter C Wilton, Edgar A Pessemier•ARTICLE•Journal of Consumer Research•1981•Cited by: 2

Limited knowledge and purchase readiness seriously hamper attempts to predict the adoption of innovative products and the early sales of new, infrequently purchased products. Test results for electric vehicles indicate that the methods employed in this study can overcome these knowledge and readiness deficiencies

  • Willingness to Supply Human Body Parts: Some Empirical Results

Edgar A Pessemier, Albert C Bemmaor et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Consumer Research•1977•Cited by: 8

Despite the serious shortage of human body parts for transplantation purposes, little research has been done to provide guidance for action. Based on sample data, this pilot study examines the demographic and attitudinal characteristics of potential donors. The results have direct relevance for programs to increase the supply of body parts
