  • The Interactions Among Sexual Orientation, Masculine and Feminine Gender Role Orientation, and Facets of Sociosexuality in Young Heterosexual and Homosexual Men

Lea Waldis, Natalie Borter et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Homosexuality•2021•Cited by: 1•References: 59

The present study investigated the functional relationships among sexual orientation, masculine and feminine gender role orientation, and sociosexual orientation in 282 heterosexual and 282 homosexual young men. Homosexual men reported significantly more pronounced sociosexual behavior (d = 0.65) and desire (d = 0.31). Furthermore, homosexual men were characterized by lower masculine (d =-0.26) and higher feminine (d = 0.38) gender role orientati…

  • On the Functional Relationships Among Sexual Orientation, Masculine and Feminine Gender Role Orientation, and Sociosexual Orientation in Young Heterosexual and Lesbian Women

Lea Waldis, Natalie Borter et al.•ARTICLE•The Journal of Sex Research•2020•Cited by: 2•References: 13

The present study investigated the mutual interplay of sexual orientation, masculine and feminine gender role orientation, and sociosexual orientation in young women. To ensure cross-sample validity, 323 heterosexual women and 323 lesbian women, ranging in age from 18 to 29 years, were matched for possible confounding variables. Lesbian women scored significantly higher ( d = 0.27) on the Desire subscale of the Revised Sociosexual Orientation Inv…

  • Processing of Temporal and Nontemporal Information as Predictors of Psychometric Intelligence

Open Access•Nadine Helmbold, Stefan J Troche et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Personality•2007

Recent research suggests a functional link between temporal acuity and general intelligence. To better understand this relation, the present study took advantage of a large sample ( N =260) and structural equation modelling to examine relations among temporal acuity, measured by various tasks, speed of information processing as measured by the Hick reaction time task, and psychometric intelligence. Temporal acuity and the Hick task showed common …
