    Bam, a city located in southeastern Iran, was dramatically destroyed in a 6.8 (Mw) earthquake on December 26, 2003. As a result of the earthquake, more than half the city residents of this local trade center died and more than 80 percent of Bam market shops, retailers, and wholesalers suffered damage.
