Charlott Nyman, Lars Evertsson et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Gender-Based Violence•2023

The aim is to show how digital financial services are used to perpetrate digitally facilitated economic abuse. The article is based on interviews with women in Sweden who are survivors of intimate partner violence and economic abuse. The use of digital financial services is rapidly expanding and in Sweden they are used by the majority of the population. They are available on smart devices such as smartphones, tablets and laptops and have become a…

  • Non-problematic Situations in Social Workers’ and GPs’ Practice

    Open Access•Devin Rexvid, Lars Evertsson•ARTICLE•Professions and Professionalism•2016

This study aims to describe and analyze written accounts of non-problematic situations by 28 social workers and 24 general practitioners (GPs). The results show that non-problematic situations were connected to professionals’ control of the intervention process. Non-problematic situations were described by social workers as situations where they had control of the relationship with the client either by the use of coercive means or by the client’s…

  • On the other side of couplehood

Lars Evertsson, Charlott Nyman•ARTICLE•Families Relationships and…•2013•Cited by: 4

This article describes Swedish women’s experiences of life as single. Data showed that singlehood was not actively chosen but rather a situation that participants ended up in due to separation from a partner. However, once single, participants chose to remain single. The lack of gender equality in traditional cohabiting couplehood made participants wary about entering a new cohabiting couple relationship. Living apart together (LAT) relationships…

  • Risk Reduction Technologies in General Practice and Social Work

Open Access•Devin Rexvid, Björn Blom et al.•ARTICLE•Professions and Professionalism•2012

General practitioners (GPs) and social workers (SWs) are professions whose professional autonomy and discretion have changed in the so-called risk and audit society. The aim of this article is to compare GPs’ and SWs’ responses to Evidence-Based and Organizational Risk Reduction Technologies (ERRT and ORRT). It is based on a content analysis of 54 peer-reviewed empirical articles. The results show that both professions held ambivalent positions t…

  • If not negotiation, then what? Gender equality and the organization of everyday life in Swedish couples

    Open Access•Lars Evertsson, Charlott Nyman•ARTICLE•Interpersona An International…•2009•Cited by: 14•References: 8

Freed from the bonds of traditional gendered norms, responsibilities and obligations, it has been argued that negotiation is a key concept for understanding how modern couples organize their common life together. Interviews with Swedish couples cause us to question this assumption. In this article we argue that negotiations are relatively unusual in couple relationships. We found that couples seldom experience the reason, room space or need to ne…

  • Difficultés liées à la négociation dans la recherche sur la famille

    Open Access•Charlott Nyman, Lars Evertsson•ARTICLE•Enfances Familles Générations•2005•Cited by: 3•References: 13

  • The Swedish Welfare State and the Emergence of Female Welfare State Occupations

    Open Access•Lars Evertsson•ARTICLE•Gender Work and Organization•2000•Cited by: 6

The Swedish welfare state has, during the twentieth century, developed into the primary guarantor of health and social services as well as economic security. As the welfare state has developed, a new group of professions has emerged which can be described as welfare state professions. In this paper I will point out a few central aspects of how female‐dominated welfare state professions have emerged and developed within the framework of the Swedis…
