Parent-Reported Feeding Difficulties and Speech and Language Development in Late Preterm Infants
Background/Objectives: This study aimed to compare feeding difficulties (FDs) in Slovenian late preterm infants (LPIs) and full-term infants (FTIs), to identify factors associated with FDs, and to examine a possible association between FDs and later speech-language disorders (SLDs) among LPIs. Methods: Parents of 177 children (n LPI = 89; n FTI = 88) born at Ljubljana Maternity Hospital between 1 July 2021 and 30 June 2022 completed a questionnai…
Diagnostics of Metabolic Bone Disease in Extremely Preterm Infants—Clinical Applicability of Bone Turnover Biochemical Markers and Quantitative Ultrasound
Phosphate, alkaline phosphatase, bone alkaline phosphatase, calcium, or ionized calcium are not related to gestational age, but bone mineral density, measured by quantitative ultrasound, is related. There is no correlation between standard and novel biochemical markers and quantitative ultrasound for the identification of metabolic bone disease
A Higher Amount of Nutritional Intake as a Possible Cause of Hyperglycemia in Extremely Premature Infants in Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition at the Tertiary Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
The postulated explanation (with the prescription of a higher amount of macronutrients during the first seven days) for hyperglycemia and treatment with insulin in the less mature and lighter infants cannot be supported by the data given
