  • Number Three in the Semiotics of Ch.S. Pierse. On the Issue of Triplicity

    Sergei G Proskurin, Anna V Proskurina•ARTICLE•Ideas and Ideals•2024

The number three refers to an important factor in the construction of the semiotics of Ch. S. Peirce. The number three is a kind of leitmotif of the theory. The whole construction of knowledge rests on primary, secondary and tertiary. Primary, secondary and tertiary are reduced to the three sides of Gottlob Frege’s triangle and appear in a different terminology as representative, object and interpretant. • Ethnogonic Texts in the Indo-European Tradition

    Sergei G Proskurin, Anna V Proskurina•ARTICLE•Ideas and Ideals•2022

This article examines the texts of the Indo-European tradition, which narrate about the myths of the origin of peoples. Thus, a segment of the Anglo-Saxon runic series correlates with Tacitus’s description of the origin of the Ingevon tribe. As a result, the parameters of the ethnically derived text are reconstructed. The parameters explain the choice of the sequence of the runes of the Anglo-Saxon Futhark. The restored text testifies that the In…

The development of ideas about the Christian sign is complex, in one of the approaches to transforming the tree-cross, a part of the overcome ideas about the world as space around the world axis is preserved, i.e. the world tree. The coming era of Christianity inherits this view, and the cross itself appear…

  • Voice and bodily deixis as manifestation of performativity in written texts

    Open Access•Sergei G Proskurin, Sergey Proskurin et al.•ARTICLE•Semiotica•2019•References: 2

This article deals with voice and bodily deixis as manifestations of performativity in written texts. A speech act of origin presents as both vocal and performative events. Ritual matrixes of culture contain performative complexes, as suggested by Austin. Such performative nuclei are neither true nor false, that is, their negation cannot be logically inferred from true premises. The term deixis describes the performative moment of the utterance, …

  • Semiotics and writing systems

    Open Access•Sergei G Proskurin, Sergey G Proskurin•ARTICLE•Semiotica•2015•References: 1

This article deals with semiotic modeling in writing. The process of modeling is involved in the creation of new scripts and alphabets. The narrative describes the so called ABC-principle in action. Since the ABC code is also a text, the letters have meaningful collocations and the letter names have meaningful associations. The sequence of letters in an ABC is a meaningful syntagm within a ritual text. We shall attempt to prove that these parts o…
