Tectonic implication in the development of fluvial landforms, morphotectonic features, and surface processes in the main boundary thrust zone of Dehradun
The development of varied landforms in the Dehradun valley is the result of tectonic activity and sculptured climatically driven surface processes. Stretching for about 35 km between the Tons and Song river valleys, the Main Boundary Thrust (MBT) in the Dehradun valley is defined by geomorphological attributes that suggest neotectonics along this active geological structure. The MBT and its splay thrusts are arcuate in nature as evident from defo…
Ai-Generated Concept Art in Film and Gaming Education
The fast development of artificial intelligence (AI) has changed the creative fields, especially film and game education, as AI concept art is starting to redefine the way images are developed. This paper examines the role of AI technology, including Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) and Diffusion Models, in the development of concept art, the optimization of the creative process, and the increase in the creative potential of students. GANs …
Ai-Based Semantic Tagging of Modern Art Collections
The proposed research will employ deep learning through multimodality and ontology-based reasoning to generate metadata of a modern art collection using an AI-based semantic tagging system. The system uses Vision Transformers (ViT) and BERT/CLIP encoders to pull out visual and textual embeddings and combine them using a contrastive learning method, and align them with cultural ontologies, like the CIDOC-CRM and the Art and Architecture Thesaurus …
Long‐term conservation practice in litchi ( Litchi chinensis L.) cultivation improves the crop productivity and soil health of degraded lands
A long‐term experiment (1995–2021) was conducted on litchi ( Litchi chinensis L.) with and without conservation practices, that is, litchi under clean cultivation (LCC) (recommended doses of fertilizers without intercrops and mulch) and litchi with conservation practice (LCP) (micro‐site improvement, intercrops, and organic mulching) on degraded lands. The study aimed to evaluate the long‐term impact of litchi‐based land uses on vegetative growth…
Interplanted crops and rainfall variability regulate soil erosion in rainfed maize of the Indian Himalayas
Soil erosion is a serious threat to agriculture and environmental sustainability in the risk‐prone rainfed Himalayan ecosystem. Hence, runoff and soil loss mitigation ability of four maize‐based intensified systems; maize ( Zea mays ) + turmeric ( Curcuma longa ), maize + ginger ( Zingiber officinale ), maize + colocasia ( Colocasia esculenta ), and maize + sweet potato ( Ipomoea batatas ) were tested against the sole maize. The study recorded 41…
Prevalence of speech and language delay in children (0-3 years) and its associated risk factors in a tertiary care teaching hospital of Eastern India
Introduction: Speech and language development is an important indicator of a child's overall development and intellectual functioning. There is a large amount of data on the prevalence and risk factors of speech and language delay from the West, but relatively scanty data from India. Language Evaluation Scale Trivandrum (LEST) is a screening tool for use in outpatient clinics and communities for identifying language delay in toddlers. Materials a…
Vitamin D status in children with Cerebral palsy
Background: Cerebral palsy(CP) is presently defined as a group of permanent disorders of the development of movement and posture, causing activity limitation, that are attributed to non-progressive disturbances that occurred in the developing fetal or infant brain. Low vitamin D levels in children with CP are also associated with decreased muscle strength, balance, muscle pain, paresthesias, and poor muscular coordination. Materials & Method: It …
