Strategic Soothers, Transparent Partners, and Antagonistic Strategists
The present study used Latent Profile Analysis (LPA) to identify naturally occurring patterns of motives for deception among adults in romantic relationships. Participants were 567 U.S. adults who reported on seven deceptive motives, attachment insecurity, dark personality traits (Machiavellianism, narcissism, psychopathy, and sadism), relational satisfaction, and the tendency to deceive. This research examines how attachment‐related insecurity relates to the motives underlying deceptive behavior. In Study 1 ( n = 926), we developed the Motives for Romantic Deception Scale (MRDS), identifying seven distinct motives: malicious intent, attention seeking, conflict avoidance, emotional appeasement, mistake concealment, privacy protection, and sexual avoidance. Attachment theory posits that people develop relationships in either a secure or insecure fashion. The underlying premise of this paper is that the power of geography is of importance in understanding the Final Solution. Ghettoization, as part of the Jewish Holocaust, forms the basis of this article. The growth of boys in the Stuttgart Carlschule, 1771–93
Height measurements taken in a mixed longitudinal manner on 1084 German-born boys aged 7 to 21+ at the Carlschule Academy in Stuttgart during the period 1771-93 have been examined. The boys can be divided into upper (aristocrat), middle and lower (artisan, servant) classes, nearly all housed and fed in this boarding school. Preece-Baines curves have been fitted to a subsample of 155 boys whose measurements cover at least the period 12-16 years at…
