    Anja Lobenstein-Reichmann•ARTICLE•Lexicographica - International…•2022

Racism is a social practice not only of present days. It has a long tradition. Regarding the history of racism, it is obvious that its concept is not based on biological knowledge and perception. Quite the contrary, it is the result of a verbal and social construction that appeared in the 18th century at the latest. This article focuses on the way this construction was and still is implemented in discourses of modern societies. Especially “degrad…

    Anja Lobenstein-Reichmann, Oskar Reichmann•ARTICLE•Lexicographica - International…•2020

Digitization of dictionaries, which were founded in predigital times, face the challenge of modern technics. In the case of the Early New High German dictionary this challenge has proved to be more a chance than a curse. Anja Lobenstein-Reichmann•BOOK•Houston Stewart Chamberlain•2008

In discussions of National Socialism one question occurs with particular frequency ‐ How was it possible in the country of poets and thinkers for people educated in the humanities to follow a “house painter” like Hitler? This book aims to show that it was just these educated middle classes, whose own identity was formed by a cultural chauvinism (with the centres of identification of “artistry” and “creativeness”), who had been prepared for an ide…
