Le monument que nous nous proposons d'étudier se trouve à l'intérieur de l'enceinte basse de l'oppidum du Castellas à Murviel-lès-Montpellier, enceinte datée du Ier siècle av. J.-C. Les premiers vestiges découverts correspondent à l'implantation d'une esplanade bordée au sud par un mur de soutènement, reconnu sur une vingtaine de mètres de longueur. The archeological site of the Castellas in Murviel-lès-Montpellier yielded either through prospecting or excavating, from the 19th century to 1985, a set of 437 stamps on sigillated ceramics, among which 42 bear an italic writing.
