Generative Artificial Intelligence in education
This contribution critically analyses the main international educational frameworks for teachers' digital competence, highlighting both critical issues and potential in relation to their professional development and the need to update school curricula. Particular attention is given to the frameworks developed by the Joint Research Centre of the European Union, including DigCompEdu , which defines the digital competences required of teachers in th…
Teaching Environmental Science Communication
Environmental science communication has become a core competence for addressing global challenges such as climate change, glacier recession, and hydrometeorological risks. Yet university curricula often prioritize technical knowledge over communicative skills, limiting students’ ability to engage with diverse audiences. This study proposes a structured three-level framework (i.e., micro-, meso-, and macro-communication) for teaching environmental…
Inventory of glaciers and glacial lakes of the Central Karakoram National Park (CKNP – Pakistan)
This study presents a map reporting valuable information on the cryosphere of the Central Karakoram National Park (CKNP, the largest protected area of Pakistan and the highest park in the world). All the information is provided considering the CKNP as a whole, and in detail by dividing it into five basins (i.e. Shigar, Hunza, Shyok, Upper Indus, and Gilgit). The glacier inventory reports 608 ice bodies covering 3680 km2 (∼35% of the CKNP area), w…
