Does Canada's New Fisheries Act Leave Some Arctic Fish or Habitats Behind
Working with Northern Communities to Build Collaborative Research Partnerships
Early Career Researchers and Mentors Work Together to Shape the Future of the Arctic Monitoring and Assessment Programme
Author: Provencher, J. F. et al.; Genre: Journal Article; Issued: 2012-03; Title: Early Career Researchers and Mentors Work Together to Shape the Future of the Arctic Monitoring and Assessment Programme
Physical and Biological Factors Affecting Mercury and Perfluorinated Contaminants in Arctic Char ( Salvelinus alpinus ) of Pingualuit Crater Lake (Nunavik, Canada) + Supplementary Appendices (See Arti…
Pingualuk Lake fills a deep crater in the Parc National des Pingualuit on the Ungava Peninsula (Nunavik, Canada) and is isolated from nearby surface waters. The main objectives of this study were to determine and compare the concentrations of two atmospherically derived contaminants, mercury and perfluorinated chemicals (PFCs), in the lake water column and fish of Pingualuk Lake and to assess the physical and biological factors influencing contam…
Bathymetry and Sediment Geochemistry of Lake Hazen (Quttinirpaaq National Park, Ellesmere Island, Nunavut)
Arctic lakes can provide a long-term perspective on environmental change, including trends in long-range atmospheric transport and deposition of contaminants, inferred from studies of sediment cores. In this study, we conducted the first detailed bathymetric survey of Lake Hazen (Quttinirpaaq National Park, Ellesmere Island, Nunavut), the world’s largest lake north of 74 ̊ latitude. With these data we were able to determine optimal locations for …
