Faunal Analysis and Paleoindian Studies
Excavation at the Lipscomb site (Lipscomb County, Texas) in 1939 and 1946 uncovered a bison bonebed and associated Folsom artifacts. Although a preliminary report was published (Schultz 1943)and the site is widely cited in Paleoindian literature, only limited infonnation on the bonebed has previously been available for comparative analysis. Seasonality of the Scottsbluff and Lipscomb Bison Bonebeds
The Scottsbluff and Lipscomb bison bonebeds initially were excavated in the 1930s. Although only brief, preliminary reports have been published on the two sites, they since have been cited widely in discussions of Paleoindian hunting practices on the western Plains. The Reliability and Validity of two Objective Measures of Achievement Motivation for Adolescent Females
Two measures of motive to succeed were revised for administration to female ninth grade students (N = 71). Scores on Hermans' (1970) Prestatie Motivatie Test (PMT) yielded a high degree of internal consistency, comparable to that obtained with males, which was greater than that found for scores on the present version of Mehrabian's (1969) Resultant Achievement Motivation (RAM) Test. The nine-banded armadillos ( Dasypus novemcinctus ) have been moving northward in the Great Plains region from the late 1800s to the 1950s but now seem to be retreating from their lately acquired northern range.
