The 2025 CSA Scholars’ Roundtable focused on the impact of technology and innovation in the field of dress. The report is an edited and condensed transcript documenting the scholars’ presentation and the audience’s comments and discussion. Engaging in cross‐disciplinary collaboration to enhance knowledge of historical design
The purpose of this research was to understand students' experiences engaging in cross‐disciplinary object‐based learning activities. A cross‐disciplinary approach was employed to help students draw connections between clothing and residential housing styles to fill gaps in research within cross‐disciplinary contexts involving two family and consumer sciences disciplines. Fan fashion of multiple fandoms
The purpose of this research was to explore the dress practices of females who wear fan fashion connected to multiple sci-fi/fantasy fandoms in a variety of everyday social contexts. Data from semi-structured, online interviews were analysed in relation to identity theory and the concept of appearance labour using NVivo qualitative analysis software and the constant comparison method. Some American science fiction and fantasy (SF&F) female fans participate in Cosplay or costume play, the global practice of dressing in costume and performing fictional characters from popular culture.
