Global and regional burden, temporal trends, and projections of chronic pain from 1990 to 2032, and its association with cardiovascular diseases: Analyses based on global burden of diseases study 2021
Introduction: Chronic pain is a major global health problem that significantly affects quality of life and increases the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Methods: Using the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) 2021 data, this study analyzed temporal trends in chronic pain across 204 countries and territories from 1990 to 2021. We further examined the influence of the Socio-demographic Index (SDI), explored age- and sex-specific patterns, and projected …
Intimate Partner Violence Against Women Before, During, and After Pregnancy: A Meta-Analysis
Intimate partner violence (IPV) against pregnant women negatively impacts women’s and infants’ health. Yet inconsistent results have been found regarding whether pregnancy increases or decreases the risk of IPV. To answer this question, we systematically searched for studies that provided data on IPV against women before pregnancy, during pregnancy, and after childbirth. Nineteen studies met our selection criteria. We meta-analyzed the nineteen s…
Trajectories and predictors of depressive symptoms among pregnant women: A 3-year longitudinal study
The findings highlight the importance of screening for depression throughout pregnancy and extending several years postpartum. Distinguishing the different trajectories of depression and identifying its associated factors are critical to providing targeted interventions to the most vulnerable women (i.e., a relapsing/remitting group in the present study). Revealing the potential causality of suicidal ideation and psychopathic symptoms among survivors 10 years after the Wenchuan earthquake using network analysis
The pathway of "anhedonia → depressed mood → suicidal ideation" was a crucial psychopathic mechanism of suicidal ideation. It informs that intervening in anhedonia and depressed mood among earthquake-exposed survivors is necessary to potentially decrease the risk of future suicidal ideation. Comorbid trajectories of posttraumatic stress disorder symptoms and depressive symptoms in a 10-year cohort of Chinese Wenchuan earthquake survivors: Course, predictors, and consequences
The results highlight the heterogeneity of depression-PTSD comorbidities among adolescent survivors. They also emphasize PTSD-depression symptoms predictors and their adverse impacts on life outcomes in adulthood. Individualized interventions should be provided for adolescents affected by natural disasters, especially those in the vulnerable and higher risk groups. Determination of sediment transport capacity by hydrodynamic variables considering subsurface water flow
Subsurface water flow can cause serious soil erosion on sloping farmland. Sediment transport capacity ( T c ) data at different subsurface water flow depths are limited. The objective of this study was to develop a new equation that can accurately determine T c under subsurface water flow impacts. Subsurface water flows were arranged at three depths: 15, 10, and 5 cm. Three flow discharges (2, 4, and 8 L min −1 ) and four slope gradients (5°, 10°…
