Introduction.The article examines the letter of taisha Ayuka as a source on Kalmyk-Russian relations of the late 17th century. Materials. Taisha Ayuka’s letter with parralel Russian translation is kept in the Russian State Archive of Ancient Acts (F. 119. Op. 1. 1688, D. 5). Results.
