Conception of Interpersonal Trait and Action Categories
Kim and Rosenberg (1980) have found that the evaluative dimension is the only one of three semantic differential factors that is generally present in implicit personality theories at the individual level In the present study it is argued that this might be less true for cognitive elements at levels of abstraction lower than trait terms One group of subjects rated the likelihood of co‐occurrence of trait terms, a second group rated the likelihood …
Consensus Among Judges as a Function of Amount of Information
The present research was designed to study whether amount of information and kind of information available to the judges affect the consensus among judges. Two experiments were performed, where the consensus was analyzed by the lens model equation, which has been related to the non-criterion situation by Naylor and Schenck (1966). The amount of information (two, four, and six tests) was found to have an effect on the consensus, whereas type of in…
Predictive Efficiency as a Function of Amount of Information
The effect of changing the amount of information on judges' predictive efficiency in a clinical prediction task was studied. Thirty judges predicted 30 students' average achievement scores on the basis of different amount of test data. One group of judges had information about the intercorrelations among the tests and the ecologkal validity of the tests. Another group of judges had only informahion about which tests were used. The predictive effi…
