Effects of Orotic Acid on Alcohol Consumption and In-Vitro Alcohol Metabolism in Rats
Orotic acid increased alcohol intake in rats that normally drank little alcohol and decreased consumption in those that drank more. Ethanol metabolism was unchanged in liver slices but in adipose tissue slices there was higher incorporation into fatty acids and into unsaponifiable fraction
