The framing of singleness as a decision and lifestyle is a relatively new social phenomenon. In this article, I argue for singlehood to be described as an independent social category and identity, not just a relationship status. This paper examines the writings and influence of Anna Julia Cooper. The honest, historical narrative of scholarship is in question when theorists of color are repeatedly forgotten or removed from the academic record. Anna Julia Cooper is just one example of someone who has been overlooked. The claim for purported similarities in the artifact assemblages of Solutrean Paleolithic foragers (23,500–20,000 cal bp) and Clovis Paleoindians (13,300–12,800 cal bp) has resulted in the resurgence of a hypothesis which suggests the two are ancestrally related.
