Study of the Process of Sequential information processing
An earlier study (3) advanced the hypothesis that there is a mechanism for scanning successively fixed traces. Briefly, this hypothesis is as follows. Eye movements alternating with visual fixations are used to familiarize oneself with problem situations and to retrieve information relevant to those problems.
