Artykuł przynosi interpretację powieści słowackiego pisarza okresu międzywojnia koncentrującą się na kilku jej aspektach: wymiarze patograficznym, sferze cielesności w przeżywaniu choroby, osobowości defektywnej głównego bohatera – lekarza i metaforyzacji choroby.
