Park's thesis that continued contact between two groups leads to eventual assimilation, is to be found in the development of jazz, which reflects the increasing contact between Negroes and whites in the United States.     I N A STUDY of Jewish intermarriage in Chicago, the writer found that the people who intermarried fell into fairly well-defined classes, though in some cases an individual might intermarry for more than one reason and therefore represent a combination of types.
