A Group of Fibulae from the Selçuk University Museum
Fibulae are functional jewelry used in ancient times, especially for fastening clothes, and are today considered to be the ancestors of safety pins. Used for cultic and ornamental purposes, these objects were produced in different periods and cultures with various shapes and materials. Roman-Period Glass Artefacts from the Selçuk University Museum Collection
This study focuses on fourteen Roman-era glass artefacts kept at the Selçuk University Museum in Konya, Turkey. The primary subject of the research comprises the unguentaria, globular-bodied and funnel-mouthed bottles, beakers, and bowls included in this examined group.
A Group of Black and Red – Figure Lekythoi from Classical Period (5th – 4th century BC)
The study examines seven lekythoi donated to the collection of the Selçuk University Museum between 2019-2020. The analysed vessels can be categorized into two groups:plain or shouldered and squat. They were painted in black-figure and red-figure techniques. This study is based on a mixed figure on a ring stone from the Roman period (1st - 2nd. century AD) preserved in the Konya Archaeology Museum. This figure is seen as a combination of four elements: a horse protome, a Silenus mask body, rooster feet and a ram's head. This study focused on Ostothek lid with Lion and woman figure from today's fire brigade department area in the Ilgın district center. This Ostothek lid is made of local limestone with the front part finished. On the lid of the Ostothek, a standing lion figure depicted from the front is seen.
