The Impact of Generative AI on the Perpetuation and Detection of Greenwashing in Sustainability Reports
Our study, based around an experiment, examines the consequences when generative AI tools are used to create and assess sustainability disclosures. There are two key findings: (1) that generative AI greenwashes sustainability disclosures, with our study participants doing little to mitigate this, and (2) that our study participants viewed AI‐generated sustainability disclosures as more positive and credible than real disclosures. Automating Autograding
Setting Standards With Multiple-Choice Tests
Software that easily helps higher education instructors to remove poor quality items and set appropriate grade boundaries is generally lacking. To address these challenges, the SmartStandardSet system provides a graphical-user interface for removing defective items, weighting student scores using a two-parameter model IRT score analysis, and a mechanism for standard-setting. We evaluated the system through a series of six interviews with teachers…

Feedback generated by peers is generally held to be of lower quality to feedback from experienced tutors, and this study sought to explore the extent and nature of this difference. We looked at how seriously peers undertook the reviewing task, differences in the level of detail in feedback comments and dif…
