Digital use as a mediator of social participation and older adults’ health in China
Introduction Population aging poses health challenges for older adults in China. Social participation may promote healthy aging, but its mechanisms remain unclear, and health is often treated as unidimensional. This study aims to examine the association between social participation and multidimensional health among Chinese older adults, and to test the mediating role of digital use.Theory Based on the social cognition theory, this study will expl…
A study on the spatio-temporal distribution and influencing factors of Buddhist architectural remains in Xinjiang region
The spatiotemporal distribution of Buddhist architectural remains in Xinjiang is a central question in Silk Road research. Addressing the limited understanding of their distribution patterns and the insufficient investigation of the underlying driving mechanisms, this study adopts a religious cultural geography perspective. Focusing on 196 Buddhist architectural remains dating from the Han to the Qing dynasties in Xinjiang, and utilizing a GIS pl…
Estimating Latent-Variable Panel Data Models Using Parameter-Expanded SEM Methods
This article presents new estimation algorithms for three types of dynamic panel data models with latent variables: factor models, discrete choice models, and persistent-transitory quantile processes. The new methods combine the parameter expansion (PX) ideas of Liu, Rubin, and Wu with the stochastic expectation-maximization (SEM) algorithm in likelihood and moment-based contexts. The goal is to facilitate convergence in models with a large space…
