  • Object-Centric 3D Gaussian Splatting for Traditional Carving Reconstruction

Open Access•J J Liu, Jiahao Liu et al.•ARTICLE•Heritage•2026

Traditional carvings, such as stone and wooden carvings, are important material carriers of intangible cultural heritage craftsmanship. High-quality three-dimensional (3D) digital replicas of these carvings provide essential support for their preservation, inheritance, interpretation, and dissemination. Owing to their intricate geometries, fine surface details, diverse materials, and complex acquisition backgrounds, high-fidelity 3D reconstructio…

  • Impact of Annual Maximum Wind Speed in Mixed Wind Climates on Wind Hazard for Mainland China

    H M Mo, Huamei Mo et al.•ARTICLE•Natural Hazards Review•2022

The coastal region in mainland China is prone to typhoon winds. However, a systematic analysis of the annual maximum wind speed analysis for typhoon and nontyphoon winds (i.e., mixed wind climate) using the wind records has not been reported for the region. The wind hazard modeling and analysis for mainland China was carried out in the present study by using wind records from 839 meteorological stations and considering mixed wind climates. The id…

  • Projecting Sets of Ground-Motion Models and Their Use to Evaluate Seismic Hazard and Uniform Hazard Spectrum for Mainland China

Chao Feng, Han Hong•ARTICLE•Natural Hazards Review•2021

A projection method was used to develop ground-motion models (GMMs) to predict the peak ground accelerations (PGAs) that are used to assess the fourth and fifth generations of Chinese seismic hazard maps. In the present study, the projection method was applied to develop sets of projected GMMs to predict PGAs and spectral accelerations (SAs) that are applicable to different seismic regions in Mainland China. The projected GMMs were based on the G…

  • Competition and Bias

Han Hong, Marcin Kacperczyk•ARTICLE•The Quarterly Journal of Economics•2010

We attempt to measure the effect of competition on bias in the context of analyst earnings forecasts, which are known to be excessively optimistic because of conflicts of interest. Our natural experiment for competition is mergers of brokerage houses, which result in the firing of analysts because of redundancy (e.g., one of the two oil stock analysts is let go) and other reasons such as culture clash. We use this decrease in analyst coverage for…

  • Estimating Static Models of Strategic Interactions

Patrick Bajari, Han Hong et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Business and Economic…•2010

We study the estimation of static games of incomplete information with multiple equilibria. A static game is a generalization of a discrete choice model, such as a multinomial logit or probit, which allows the actions of a group of agents to be interdependent. While the estimator we study is quite flexible, in most cases it can be easily implemented using standard statistical packages such as STATA. We also propose an algorithm for simulating the…

  • Marx and Menger on value

    Han Hong•ARTICLE•Cambridge Journal of Economics•2000

This paper argues that, as far as theories of value and money are concerned, Marx and Menger have more in common than has been traditionally maintained. Each of them had his own abstract concept of value, distinct from labour or utility and prior to prices. Moreover, both proposed theories of value form and provided explanations of the origin of money. These concepts and theories can hardly be found in the works of Smith and Ricardo, nor in those…
