A Seventh-Century Byzantine Hoard from Germia
This study examines the Germia Hoard discovered in 1972 in the village of Gümüşkonak in the Sivrihisar district of Eskişehir Province. Originally comprising 47 Byzantine gold coins, the surviving portion consists of ten solidi and six tremisses from the reign of Constans II, and a single tremissis struck under Heraclius. Bu makalenin konusunu Kocaeli’nin Kandıra İlçesi Yusufça Köyü’nde bulunmuş olan ve “Yusufça” olarak adlandırılmış defne oluşturmaktadır. Defnede toplam 154 adet altın, 2 adet gümüş sikke bulunur. Altın sikkelerin 98’si Osmanlı diğer 56’sı ise Avrupa sikkelerinden oluşmaktadır. Avrupa sikkeleri ile Osmanlı padişahlarının sikkeleri çağdaştır. During the excavations in the byzantine city of Amorium, which are conducted from the year of 1988 systematically, two iron swords were recovered from the Trench XA of the Enclosure, which is located in the Lower City and from the Trench A4 of the Lower City Church respectively.
