The impact of maxillary advancement on nasality in a non-cleft population
Perceptual and objective characteristics of nasality were examined in 14 non-cleft patients prior to orthognathic surgery involving maxillary advancement. Perceptual assessments pre-surgery revealed three patients as hyponasal and two as mildly hypernasal. Instrumental assessments confirmed hyponasality in only one patient.
