Frequency of occurrence of Cantonese word initials, finals and tones
Thirty 10-minute spontaneous speech and dialogue segments were randomly recorded from live radio and TV programmes broadcast in Hong Kong. The speech samples were carefully phonetically transcribed by two experienced investigators. The contribution of self-help activities in enhancing the quality of life of laryngectomees in Hong Kong was examined. Forty-six senior members of a laryngectomees' self-help organization – the New Voice Club – were selected to participate in a survey study. An electropalatographic description of Cantonese speech
