The Present Situation of The Nambiquara1
The Nambiquara region has recently become more accessible, enabling the authors to make a fairly thorough survey. This paper lists bands according to their geographical locations and linguistic positions within the Nambiquara family. The name by which each band refers to itself is correlated with the terms used by other bands. Present-day villages are shown, and past and present population is discussed
