The amount of disparity between the lengths of the radii and ulnae of 177 Negro female skeletons of the Terry Collection was questioned. An error was found and corrections have been made in the relevant statistics and tables
The density of long limb bones and the percentage ash weight of the skeleton of Macaca mulatta
The gravimetric density of humeri, radii, femora and tibiae from a series of 274 male and female skeletons of rhesus monkeys, Macaca mulatta , was determined for fetal, young and adult periods. The ages of 171 of the animals were known: they ranged from 57 days of gestation to 13.6 years; the ages of an additional 103 skeletons were estimated. Sequential changes in weight of the skeleton and in length of long limb bones of Macaca mulatta
In a collection of 274 monkeys ( Macaca mulatta ) the relative weight of the dry, fat‐free skeleton, expressed as a proportion of total body weight, increases significantly throughout the gestational period to approximately 6% with only random variation after birth. A statistical study of the multivariate structure and race‐sex differences of American White and Negro fetal skeletons
The techniques of factor analysis and discriminant analysis have been applied to 21 measurements of 115 fetal, American White and Negro skeletons. It was found that the factor patterns of the race‐sex groups are similar and that two factors describe approximately 85% of the total variance of the multivariate structure of the skeleton. Weight of the skeleton during postnatal development
The weight of all bones and the length of humeri, radii, femora and tibiae have been determined in a series of 150 dry, fat‐free skeletons from American Whites and Negroes of both sexes, ranging in age from 23 days to 22 years. The transverse diameter of the adult femur at the level of its mid‐bicondylar length is related to length, age and year of birth in American White and Negro skeletons of both sexes of the Terry Collection.
