The Opening of the Monument to Grand Duke Nikolai Nikolaevich in 1914 and One of the Last Bulgarian Attempts to Return Russian Sympathies
This article considers the attempt of the Bulgarian envoy in St. Petersburg, R. Dimitriev, to improve the attitude of Russian society to Bulgaria. The occasion was the unveiling of a monument dedicated to Grand Duke Nikolai Nikolaevich the Elder, who commanded the Russian army in the Russo-Turkish War of 1877–1878.
