  • The beginning of copper metalworking in the Copper Age of the Carpathian Basin – New data on the provenance of Early and Middle Copper Age copper finds from Western and Central Hungary

    Open Access•Zsuzsanna M Virág, Igor M Villa et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Archaeological Science…•2025•References: 12

  • Geochemical and Pb isotopic constraints on the provenance of the Lupa Capitolina bronze statue

Open Access•M Clemenza, Ettore Fiorini et al.•ARTICLE•Archaeological and Anthropological…•2025•References: 16

Newly reanalyzed samples from the bronze statue of the Lupa Capitolina have provided lead isotope and trace element data. The lead isotope results coincide with those previously reported in the literature, but are approximately 20 times more precise. The high-resolution lead isotope analyses and the compositional data, especially lead concentrations higher than those found in copper ores, clearly reveal a mixing trend during the casting process. …

  • The myth of Mecsek malachite used in the Late Neolithic Carpathian Basin- the provenance of Late Neolithic malachite and copper artefacts from South-eastern Transdanubia

    Open Access•Zsuzsanna Siklósi, A Osztás et al.•ARTICLE•Archaeological and Anthropological…•2025•Cited by: 1•References: 39

    Open Access•Antonio Monterroso‐Checa, Claude Domergue et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Roman Archaeology•2024•References: 2

  • Sant'Imbenia (Alghero)

    Open Access•M Clemenza, Bruno Billeci et al.•ARTICLE•Archaeological and Anthropological…•2021•Cited by: 1•References: 13

Lead isotope compositions were determined for 18 metal objects from the archaeological site of Sant'Imbenia, NW Sardinia, dating to the end of the ninth century BCE onwards. The provenance of some objects is unambiguously traced to SW Sardinia; other objects could derive either from central Sardinia or the Iberian coastal ranges. The variety of the provenances attests to a wide trade network that spanned the entire island of Sardinia and extended…

  • Lead isotope evidence of lead supply in ancient Ilduro (second-first centuries B.C.E.)

Open Access•Alejandro G Sinner, Marco Ferrante et al.•ARTICLE•Archaeological and Anthropological…•2020
