Toward a Holistic and Integrative Pedagogy
We wish to express our thanks to our interlocutors and to the editors of Pneuma for facilitating this exchange as part of an issue on higher education within Pentecostalism. It is a humbling experience to have our work digested by seasoned administrators long at work in pentecostal higher educational spheres who share with us the calling and task of forging a Christ-formed and Spirit-infused life of the mind. Response to the Holy and Great Council of the Orthodox Church
The Holy and Great Council of the Orthodox Church was a momentous event not simply for the Orthodox world, but for all Christians. In this response, I suggest that the Council opened the door to a new set of relations centered on the recognition of the “historic name” of other churches outside the boundaries of Orthodoxy. Baptism, Conversion, and Grace
The past four decades of dialogue between Methodists and Catholics as well as Pentecostals and Catholics reveal a shared soteriological substructure between each communion that is grounded in pneumatology. This article explores the shared substructure in order to point out the inherent tensions it raises with respect to baptism and conversion and then offer a possible solution as a way to advance the dialogues. The initial claim being made is tha…
