A Comparative Study of Acculturation and Adaptation of Descendants of Japanese Born in Brazil (Nissei) Compared with Japanese and Brazilians
Social adaptation or adaptation stress is studied in sons of Japanese immigrants living in São Paulo (Brazil). Test and questionnaire data of these students are compared with those of Japanese students of the same age and sex and similar status living in Tokyo, and with Brazil students living in São Paulo. Generally, the data point to the absence of acculturation stress in the Nissei group
