The Development of an Interactive Industry/Academic Power Engineering Education Program at the University of Missouri-Rolla
This paper describes the development of a unique and innovative program in power engineering education enhanced through an Industry/Academic interrelationship. This program is devoted to both the teaching and the practice of power engineering. The development of the Industry/Academic relationship and its value as a model for power engineering education are related. A summary of present and proposed future activities concludes the report
Polynomial Root Determination by an Equivalent Transfer Function Simulation on an Iterative Analog Computer
The methods for determining the roots of polynomials by analog computer techniques are varied, but stability analysis is usually of chief concern. The computer approach used in this paper always produces stable operation, and introduces an equivalent transfer function representation of the polynomial, a linear transformation, and a generalized iterative analog computer program. The accuracy obtainable is not comparable to that of digital programs…
Constructing Liapunov Functions by Means of the Analog Computer
Lur'e's method in constructing Liapunov functions is well known. For a higher order feedback system, however, the last steps of his process is not very practical. This paper attempts to offer a method for solving the nonlinear algebraic equations by using the analog computer instead of finding the sufficient conditions. Thus a Liapunov function can be constructed which is not easily obtained by his original technique
