  • Policy for regime destabilisation in CAP Strategic plans assessing the transformative ambition of France's and Germany's implementations of the Common agricultural policy

    Open Access•L Frank, Heiner Schanz•ARTICLE•Environmental Politics•2025•References: 43

The European Union’s Common Agricultural Policy [CAP] reports the aim of systemic change towards sustainable food systems. This paper assesses the transformative ambition enshrined in national Strategic Plans [SPs] implementing the CAP by analysing policy aiming at the deliberate destabilisation of socio-technical regimes. We conceptualise such ambitions based on the transformative outcomes at which agricultural policy aims, including the phase-o…

  • Peatland rewetting as drainage exnovation – A transition governance perspective

    Open Access•Pia Sommer, L Frank•ARTICLE•Land Use Policy•2024•Cited by: 2•References: 52

In the European Union, peatlands are largely drained for agriculture resulting in significant environmental damage and CO2 emissions. Rewetting is seen as an effective tool to reduce CO2 emissions, but drainage-based agricultural practices are locked-in. Instead of describing the scaling up of agriculture on wet peatlands, this paper examines the termination of drained peatlands use as an exnovation problem. Drawing on sustainability transitions …

  • Assessing regime destabilisation through policy change

    Open Access•L Frank, Giuseppe Feola et al.•ARTICLE•Environmental Innovation and…•2024•Cited by: 4•References: 62

In sustainability transitions research, the deliberate destabilisation of socio-technical regimes is increasingly recognised as a central intervention point. Absent, however, are granular approaches for assessing whether regime destabilisation actually occurs in processes of systemic change. We propose to assess regime destabilisation through shifts in the institutionalisation of field logics. Methodologically, we employ Socio-Technical Configura…

  • Toward Computational Models of Multilingual Sentence Processing

    Open Access•L Frank, Stefan L Frank•ARTICLE•Language Learning•2021•References: 65

Although computational models can simulate aspects of human sentence processing, research on this topic has remained almost exclusively limited to the single language case. The current review presents an overview of the state of the art in computational cognitive models of sentence processing, and discusses how recent sentence-processing models can be used to study bi- and multilingualism. Recent results from cognitive modeling and computational …
