The autor publishes the results of the first campaign (1982) of excavations within the castle walls of Alccer do Sal. The site is in front of the Mother Church of Santa Maria. The discovery of an absidal cella amongst the architectural remains is noteworthy, as it represents the first know public building of Roman Imperatoria.
