Upgrading of educational qualifications and the effects of social origin in terms of wages
The article examines whether formal educational upgrading after labour market entry attenuates or reinforces the association between social origin and wages in Germany. We use NEPS-SC6-ADIAB data for descriptive and decomposition analyses. The results show that the group of upgraders shows a steeper wage growth compared to non-upgraders.
