A Danish case study of a sociomaterial construction of a new nomos and purpose of higher education
This article combines Bourdieusian practice with narrative sociomaterial theory to investigate what story of higher education and its purpose is being conveyed to students. Our case study revolves around a Danish university. We conduct a sociomaterial analysis of three university sites: an information day for prospective students, a video of a campus tour, and on-campus signage. Re‐storying and visualizing the changing entrepreneurial identities of Bill Gates and Richard Branson
The storytelling in textual and visual re‐constructions of Bill Gates and Richard Branson by their organizations produces entrepreneurial identities bound into particular social power–knowledge relations. Fiction and Humor in Transforming McDonald’s Narrative Strategies
The article builds on and expands a narrative perspective on strategy. Specifically, we develop a more Bakhtinian model in which corporate fiction and humor serve the firm’s strategic dialogic imagination.
