Outcome and cost‐effectiveness of transdiagnostic cognitive behavioral therapy compared with management as usual for youth with common mental health problems
BACKGROUND: Credible long-term outcomes from randomized trials evaluating the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of preventive programs for mental health problems are needed. We compared long-term effects of the Mind My Mind (MMM) transdiagnostic cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) program to management as usual (MAU). METHODS: The study was a pragmatic, multisite, randomized superiority trial (2017-2019) involving youths aged 6-16 years with an…
Youth Epidemiology and Resilience (Year) in a student population
This study illustrates the state of mental health of school-going adolescents aged 11-18. The greater prevalence of internalizing symptoms indicates the need for stronger attention for identifying internalizing problems and targeted interventions for those at risk of such symptoms. The association between mental health symptoms and resilience factors highlights the protective potential of resilience building for adolescents
Continuity of health anxiety from childhood to adolescence and associated healthcare costs

HA in childhood and adolescence is scarcely explored, hindering the potential for prevention and early intervention. METHODS: HA was assessed in 1,278 children/youths at two time points at ages 11 and 16 years in a general population-based birth cohort. Register…
Behavioral and Emotional Problems Reported by Parents of Children Ages 6 to 16 in 31 Societies
This study compared parents' ratings of behavioral and emotional problems on the Child Behavior Checklist (Achenbach, 1991;Achenbach & Rescorla, 2001) for general population samples of children ages 6 to 16 from 31 societies ( N = 55,508). Effect sizes for society ranged from .03 to .14. Effect sizes for gender were ≤ .01, with girls generally scoring higher on Internalizing problems and boys generally scoring higher on Externalizing problems. Ef…
