Femininity as Productive Force: Kluge and Critical Theory
When Alexander Kluge introduced the concept of a female productive force into the debates of the women's movement in the mid1970s, it was as part of a longstanding discourse on the (Oiffentlichkeit). The topos of the public sphere had been a central concern to the left in the Federal Republic from the anti-nuclear protests (Ostermarschierer) of the 1950s and 1960s to the student movement.
