  • Changes in Soil Organic Carbon Stocks and Chemical Properties in Organogenic Soils Under Long‐Term Agricultural Use in Central Europe, Poland

Open Access•Ewelina Zając, Bożena Smreczak et al.•ARTICLE•Land Degradation and Development•2025

Organic soils, particularly peatlands, are important carbon sinks. In Europe, almost half of the area has been drained mainly for agriculture, which causes problems with high carbon dioxide emissions. In Poland, peatlands are drained in 86% of the area, and most of them are used as grasslands. The aim of the study was to analyze changes in agriculturally used organogenic soils between 1975 and 2017 using data from 476 reference soil profiles. The…

  • Interpretacje związków frazeologicznych z leksemami ucho, oko, nos, język, serce – badania na grupie dzieci pięcioletnich

    Open Access•Ewelina Zając•ARTICLE•Prace Filologiczne•2023

Głównym celem artykułu jest przedstawienie i omówienie zebranego wśród dzieci pięcioletnich materiału leksykalnego dotyczącego rozumienia i interpretacji związków frazeologicznych z komponentami ucho, oko, nos, język i serce. Wybór relacji frazeologicznych podyktowany był intencją odniesienia się do spraw bliskich dziecku, z którymi styka się ono na co dzień i które utrwaliły się w językowej tradycji powiedzonkowej. Tematyka frazeologizmów miała …

  • Raised bog biodiversity loss

Open Access•Renata Kędzior, Jan Zarzycki et al.•ARTICLE•Land Degradation and Development•2022

Peatlands are unique ecosystems inhabited by highly specialized biota. Due to extraction and drainage, these valuable ecosystems decline or represent only fragmented habitat patches. The aim of this study was to compare the carabid species composition, diversity, and life history traits between bog habitat types: 20 and 40 year post‐extraction sites and undisturbed one. We tried to determine whether populations of rare carabid bog specialists wou…
