  • The effects of adverse childhood experiences on deaf adults

    This study examined childhood adversity, exploitation-related experiences, intimate partner violence (IPV), substance use, and anxiety/depressive symptoms among deaf and hard-of-hearing adults. Data came from an anonymous online survey completed by 140 participants.     This study describes the demographic profiles of 1,164 deaf children and adolescents who are consumers of the public behavioral health services in the state of Maryland.     The purpose of this article is to report the findings of the mental health needs and community support systems for deaf and hard of hearing (HOH) adults in Nepal. Ninety-nine deaf Nepali adults completed a household-by-household, researcher-administered survey.
