The Old Frisian lexicon contains two words for ‘blue’: wēden , related to OE wǣden (MoE woaden arch.), OHG weitīn (MoG waiden arch.), and MLG wêden , with adjectival suffix *- īna stemming from PGmc * waida-, waidina- ‘woad, plant yielding blue dye’.
