  • The common production of economic advantages

Open Access•Marlen van den Ecker, Tilman Reitz et al.•ARTICLE•Critical Sociology•2025•References: 4

Commenting on recent ‘neo-feudal’ tendencies of upward distribution, this article examines information-based rentiership with an approach inspired by Marxian labour and rent theory. We propose that rent extraction in the information economy cannot be reduced to gains from intellectual property or platform market power alone, but also hinges on productive advantages conditioned by various forms of human activity. Unlike land rent, these advantages…

    Tilman Reitz•ARTICLE•Philosophische Rundschau•2021

Since his dissertation in 1968, Manfred Walther has advanced the reception of Spinoza like no other German scholar, as much through his own contributions as through his early attention to international discussions. His collected contributions on Spinoza make up an independent approach, which might best be described as realistic rationalism. Walther manages the feat of presenting an accessible (and still convincing) Spinoza while staying true to t…

  • The reshaping of political representation in post-growth capitalism

    Open Access•Tilman Reitz, Dirk Jörke•ARTICLE•Anthropological Theory•2021•Cited by: 6•References: 33

This article aims to provide an analysis of the reconfiguration of political orientations in the face of weakening economic growth. We address a widely observed new polarization in the party systems of Western democracies, with radically universalist and ecological orientations, often represented by green parties, versus industrialist and authoritarian values, mainly represented by right-wing populism. In our effort to explain this constellation,…

  • Das bloße Leben als utopischer Horizont - Politisches Denken im Corona-Notstand

    Tilman Reitz•ARTICLE•Philosophische Rundschau•2020

The 4th edition of the first volume of this work provides an update of the commentary on the preamble and articles 1 to 19 in case law and literature. The structure of the book has been retained and its content supplemented by more recent developments, such as the implications of Europeanisation and digitalisation as well as the Corona pandemic. As of the 4th edition, Frauke Brosius-Gersdorf has taken over the editorship of the commentary.

  • Abhängigkeit im 21. Jahrhundert

    Tilman Reitz•ARTICLE•Philosophische Rundschau•2015

Alexandra Krause, Gisela Notz et al.•BOOK•Marx Für SozialwissenschaftlerInnen•2014

    Open Access•Tilman Reitz, Susanne Draheim•ARTICLE•Soziale Welt•2006•Cited by: 1•References: 4

Soziale Welt is one of the important journals within German sociology and is even read in foreign countries. It includes empirical and theoretical contributions from all areas of the subject and tries to portray the development of sociology and to give a new impetus. In addition to the quarterly published issues, there are special issues with a unified theme
