  • Assessing exposure from different vehicular antennas in military applications: A computational study

Open Access•Micol Colella, M Biscarini et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2025

Introduction: Military personnel frequently operate in close proximity to electromagnetic (EM) sources such as vehicular communication antennas. Despite this occurrence, detailed evaluations of exposure scenarios remain limited. This study bridges this gap by examining EM exposure from military vehicular antennas, covering a broad spectrum of frequencies (high frequency-HF, very high frequency-VHF, ultrahigh frequency-UHF), power levels, and posi…

  • Numerical Evaluation of Human Body Near Field Exposure to a Vehicular Antenna for Military Applications

Open Access•Micol Colella, M Biscarini et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2022

BACKGROUND: The use of electromagnetic (EM) technologies for military applications is gaining increasing interest to satisfy different operational needs, such as improving battlefield communications or jamming counterpart's signals. This is achieved by the use of high-power EM waves in several frequency bands (e.g., HF, VHF, and UHF). When considering military vehicles, several antennas are present in close proximity to the crew personnel, which …

  • The Impact of Pessimistic Expectations on the Effects of Covid‐19‐Induced Uncertainty in the Euro Area

Open Access•Giovanni Pellegrino, Federico Ravenna et al.•ARTICLE•Oxford Bulletin of Economics and…•2021

We estimate a monthly interacted‐VAR model for euro area macroeconomic aggregates allowing for the impact of uncertainty shocks to depend on the state of the average outlook for the economy measured by survey data. We find that, in response to an uncertainty shock, the peak decrease in industrial production and inflation is around three and a half times larger during pessimistic times. We build an assessment of the role of uncertainty for a path …
