Inhibition of cellulase, xylanase and β-glucosidase activities by softwood lignin preparations
The conversion of lignocellulosic biomass to fuel ethanol typically involves a disruptive pretreatment process followed by enzyme-catalyzed hydrolysis of the cellulose and hemicellulose components to fermentable sugars.
