Development and Cross-Cultural Validation of a Measure of Career Exploration and Decision-Making Outcome Expectations
Existing measures of outcome expectations in career exploration and decision-making tend to focus on positive expectations and may not adequately sample the range of anticipated outcomes (e.g., self-evaluative, social) that could motivate or discourage students’ engagement in career planning activities. Proactive Career Behaviors, Subjective Career Success, and Job Marketability
We examined the applicability of the social cognitive career self-management (CSM) model of proactive career behaviors in a new cultural, economic, and linguistic context. A sample of 536 Turkish workers completed measures of supervisory support, proactive personality, proactive career behavior, self-efficacy, outcome expectations, two indicators of subjective career success (career satisfaction and organizational rewards), and job marketability.…

A mediation model based on the Psychology of Working Theory was proposed, placing career optimism as a mediator in the relationship between work volition and future decent work perceptions. Employing a sample of 380 Turkish undergraduate students, structural equation model results show that work volition is positively related to perceptions of future decent work and that career optimism mediates this relationship. In addition, results show that e…
Relations between grit, career adaptability, and life satisfaction
Drawing on the career construction model of adaptation, the present study investigates whether grit predicts life satisfaction via career adaptability and how university students’ age moderates this mediated relationship. Using a sample of 338 Turkish university students, the results show that career adaptability mediated the relationships between grit and life satisfaction. Furthermore, the relationship between career adaptability and life satis…
