  • Understanding multi-hazard risk for U.S. coastal cities

Open Access•Subash Poudel, Sunil Bista et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of Disaster…•2026

Coastal cities are threatened by a wide range of hazards, including sea-level rise, erosion, storm surges, flooding, and extreme weather events. In this study, we focus on understanding multi-hazard risk across a few coastal cities in the United States, considering the range of potential hazards, socioeconomic conditions, adaptive capabilities, and infrastructure vulnerability. We employ a Multi-Hazard Risk Index by analyzing in-situ ground obser…

  • Quantitative assessment of the GLOF risk along China-Nepal transboundary basins by integrating remote sensing, machine learning, and hydrodynamic model

  • Status of springs in mountain watershed of western Nepal

Open Access•Sanot Adhikari, Anup Gurung et al.•ARTICLE•Water Policy•2021

The study, conducted in western hilly areas of Nepal, inventoried and mapped over 4,222 springs from five different watersheds. The study showed that more than 50% of the spring sources were found under natural conditions, i.e., open spring whereas 15% of them were of pond type. Similarly, the other 15% spring was recorded as a concrete structure or tank while 1% was determined to be a well. Attempts were made to identify if a change in water dis…
